NORMAN – College of Oklahoma head volleyball coach Aaron Mansfield introduced the 2023 non-conference slate on Wednesday, that includes two residence matches in opposition to UCLA. The Large 12 beforehand introduced the convention schedule in Could.
OU travels to Wichita State for an exhibition match on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. CT, earlier than formally opening the season on the Ball State Event, Aug. 25-26, in Muncie, Ind. The 2-day event features a doubleheader on Friday, Aug. 25 in opposition to Gonzaga and Purdue Fort Wayne at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CT, respectively. The Sooners will face host Ball State for the second consecutive season on Saturday, Aug. 26 at midday CT.
OU continues its highway trek to start out the season, touring to Corvallis, Ore., for the Asics Invitational. The Sooners will face-off in opposition to host Oregon State on Friday, Sept. 1, at 5 p.m. CT and conclude the event in opposition to Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. CT.
Following its journey to Oregon, OU will journey to South Bend, Ind., for the Irish Invitational, opening the event in opposition to Illinois on Friday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. CT and enjoying host Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. CT. The Sooners will face the Illini for the primary time since Dec. 10, 1988 and the Combating Irish for the primary time since Sept. 10, 2005.
OU returns residence for a pair of matches in opposition to UCLA on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16. at 5 p.m. and a couple of p.m. CT, respectively. The Sooners conclude their non-conference slate in opposition to Tulsa on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. CT.
OU opens Large 12 play at residence in opposition to Texas on Friday, Sept. 22 and Sat., Sept. 23, at 6 p.m. CT each nights. The Sooners are slated to face six Large 12 groups twice (Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas and UCF) in two-match collection on consecutive days and the remaining six groups as soon as (Baylor, BYU, Kansas, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia).
